SMTP

SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) is the sending (transmit) side of mail on a TCP/IP network. This protocol can also be used as a relay agent or it can have a post office where mail is delivered. As with POP3, the usual e-mail client programs can be used to send e-mail via SMTP.

SMTP

For SMTP, the standard port usage is port 25.
