Display Properties
To adjust display settings for your
video card and monitor go to the display icon in the Control Panel.
Clicking on the display icon will produce a display similar to the one
shown below. Figure 57
shows us where to adjust the color. Choosing the Settings tab, we can
make the adjustments.

If we choose the Advanced
tab, we can change the refresh rate and any other settings particular
to the video card and monitor installed.

Practice changing display settings
Safe Mode Video Troubleshooting
If you make a mistake in the refresh rate settings and cannot see the screen, reboot the computer in safe mode and adjust the display settings, and reboot. Safe mode starts the computer with a minimal set of (hopefully known working) drivers. Its not pretty, but at least it lets you see the screen! |
