About the Book
This study guide was designed specifically for the interim CompTIA A+ Operating Systems Technology certification exam (220-232), which will be given from September 12th until the new test is out. Then it will be retired and replaced by a totally new exam devoted to 2003 objectives.
The interim exam continues to score 2001 objectives and also provides you a chance to practice against upcoming 2003 objectives without having them count in your final score. Throughout the book, we use Future Owl icons with specially boxed text to alert you to these 2003 items. Successfully answering these non-scored items insures that you are fully aware of the most recent real-world topics.
This new book fills gaps existing in other study aid material and includes information found in no other book. In just reviewing the table of contents, you will see that I had complete freedom to build on what I have learned from running a Voc Tech school. For example, the chapter numbers are written in Base 2. This wasnt done to annoy you. The goal is to reinforce your learning binary math, since that is how much of computing works.
I also include lots of real-world material so you can continue to use this book as a reference on the job. While I have kept the tone as light as possible, I incorporated a great deal of serious research to demystify some of the terms and technologies.
If you are in the game for in-depth understanding, this is this book for you.
