VI  Other Types of Memory

Of course this couldn't possibly be all the different types of RAM there are out there. There have been many technological advances in the area of system memory just as there have been with every other component of the modern PC system. Most of these advancements dealt with the throughput and the different memory access technologies that allowed significant gains in system performance from the previous technology. It is also important to note that many of the technologies that will be discussed here are advancements in the area of DRAM or Dynamic RAM memory, the first of which is Fast Page Memory, or FPM.
