II Networking This chapter begins networking with the PC itself. For a PC to talk to a network, it either needs Dial-Up Networking (if you are using Windows) and a modem, or a Network Interface Card (NIC). Dial-Up Networking is covered in the Operating System test (and our book for that part of A+) so here the focus begins with the NIC, and the PC.
